With the average price of a new vehicle now exceeding $70,000 in 2025, many believe it's nearly impossible to get behind the wheel of a luxury model for a reasonable sum. It's true that some vehicles are outrageously priced, but brands like Jaguar are far from as unattainable as you might think.
At $70,000, you're looking at the entry-level version of Jaguar's legendary F-Pace SUV. But make no mistake—this is far from a bare-bones model. It comes loaded with standard equipment.
The starting price of the 2026 Jaguar F-Pace is $71,950. For that amount, you get a stylish vehicle with 19-inch wheels, LED headlights, leather seats, and much more—including a Meridian sound system. These are the kinds of features that typically cost extra elsewhere.
Affordable Upgrades
What I appreciate about Jaguar is that, unlike many competitors, it offers reasonably priced individual options. For example, certain F-Pace paint colors cost only $850, whereas at other brands you might pay several thousand dollars for something similar.
The same logic applies to most options available on the model. This allows you to customize your vehicle without sending the final price through the roof. By contrast, at Mercedes-Benz or BMW, you're often forced to purchase entire option packages just to get a single feature—something that can be both frustrating and very costly.
A Proven Engine
Of course, you shouldn't expect a supercharged V8 for $70,000, but the entry-level Jaguar F-Pace still comes with a solid powertrain: a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 246 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. It's paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive comes standard.
Sure, you could buy an SUV from a mainstream brand with similar equipment levels and a more dynamic engine. However, you wouldn't get the ride comfort or build quality that the Jaguar F-Pace delivers. In short, it's a model well worth considering, and even the entry-level version gives you your money's worth.
